Fun Fall Activities

Autumn is my favorite season.... by far.

I love pumpkin-flavored food, warm & cuddly sweaters, scarves, tea, colorful leaves, crisp mornings, foggy evenings, and soup.

This year, Zach and I are going crazy and having an all-out autumn celebration. (Well, mainly, I am. Zach's a good husband who's just along for the ride.)

First, we're spending a weekend in Oak Glen. (I'm super, super excited about this.)

Oak Glen, also known as "Apple Country," is the closest thing to a "real" autumn we have here in Southern California. It's up in the San Bernardino mountains, so it's cooler and quieter.  And, it's peppered with apple orchards and berry fields. We're staying at an adorable Bed & Breakfast close to all the activity (our room doesn't have a TV because the owners want us to have family time...)

We're also planning on pumpkin hunting at Shawn's Pumpkin Patch in Culver City. It's nowhere near as amazing as the massive pumpkin farms I'm used to in Oregon, but it's the closest our little city can get.

And, we might make a trip up north to Underwood Family Farms for their 14th Annual Fall Harvest Festival - complete with antique tractor rides, a legit pumpkin patch, corn maze, hay pyramid and pig race. (All fall festivals should have a good pig race.)

What are you doing to celebrate Autumn this year?
