Extremely Loud & Incredibly Close

My book club is reading Extremely Loud & Incredibly Close this month - which corresponds nicely with our trip to New York (since it's set in the Upper West Side.)

Both days that we've been here, we've taken leisurely afternoon breaks in quaint coffee shops (on Sunday, Think Coffee in the West Village and yesterday, Black Brick in Brooklyn) and I've found myself engrossed in the haunting story of a young, anxiety-ridden little boy grieving the death of his father. It's written in stream of conscious, which can be overwhelming at first, but which makes the story all-the-more rich.

I'm already looking forward to reading more during our expected coffee shop stop today!
